Aw geeze.. Found a 681 for less than $500 And no CAI import marks.

Early one to (no dash) but with the M stamp.

Tight, no endshake, crane shake, cylinder shake, and no dings. Excellent shape.

Yep, I slapped money down on it right away.

Look What I found in my Linotype!

Guys,

It's been a long time since I took Typography in college but I believe those large pieces are Foundry Type. It's much harder and larger than Monotype. Monotype is small, text sized type that ran on rails in response to the keyboard letter being pressed and when the printing job was done the Monotype was returned to its storage location in the typesetting machine. Each letter had a unique profile that made it possible to mechanically sort. Foundry type was set by hand and was often used in display ads. A professor told us that computer and photo set type was a fad that would pass and hot set type would prevail. I kinda wish he had been right.

Found a Gem

Cast Boolits - Dedicated To The World Of Cast Bullets!

Found a gem at a local wholesaler today along with some other odds and ends. Never opened and the gal running the place just took a look at the ole smart phone and sold it to me for 20 clams. Notice what they were trying to get for it on the lid.

My guess they looked on Flea-bay at what the press kits are going for. This was the first time I've gone scrounging in a wholesaler and come up with anything reloading oriented. Same place had 3 entry level Crossman .177 airguns too. I mentioned them to the wife when I caught up to her and when we went back for them they were gone.

Actually now a days that is not an uncommon Evilbay price for a Loader, folks are going just plain nuts. I really do like the little loaders, i have two i have gotten second hand, i don't pass them up if i can get them for a reasonable price. Good find!

The price in the pic is their price, and this is one of the better "bargin hunters" in town. The resiloution on the pic isn't fine enough to see "The lowest price on the internet: $151.00."

But these days being the sellers market it is they just could have told me to go pound sand with my handy dandy phone and didn't. Incidently it was Midway's website I had pulled out of the ether and it was out of stock of course, $26.99 plus S&H. Just seemed odd to me that this was the only piece of equipment in the whole warehouse, no idea where it came from but I didn't ask either just happy with the deal. I have come to the realization I am starting to get redundant when it comes to reloading and trying to find backups for all my chamberings is never far from mind.
