A marine was coming home

A Marine was coming home from the Pentagon one day. He noticed that there was a lot more traffic than normal. As he got further up the road all of the traffic had come to a halt.
He saw a policeman coming towards his car, so he asked the cop what was wrong. The cop said, ?Man we are in a crisis situation. Mr. Obama is in the road very upset. He does not have the $33.5 million that he owes his lawyers, and his family hates him. He is threatening to douse himself in gasoline and start a fire.?

The marine asked the cop exactly what he was doing there. The cop said, ?I feel sorry for the president so I am going car to car asking for donations.?

The marine asked, ?How much do you have so far??

The cop replied, ?Well as of right now only 33 gallons, but many people are still siphoning as we speak!?

lee spruce plate bolt coming loose

I got a lee 2 bullet 358-125-rf. the spruce place bolt keeps coming loose. there is no set screw to tighten up.
is there a way to fix this?

When your bolt loosens, it is time to lubricate your mold.

Not quite sure what lubricating a mold would do to prevent the sprue screw from coming loose.
The only solution I know of is a set screw. Here's a Lee 6 cavity that had a sprue plate screw that came loose frequently. Drill and tap for a set screw and problem solved.

I didn't fully understand the " lubricate the mold " suggestion either.

If his threads are stripped and / or loose, lubricating the mold won't help a thing.

its a new mold, threads ok. Has anyone tried lock tight on the bolt yet? I know they make a high heat lock tight.

The downside to using high heat Loc-Tite is the eventuality that maybe someday the screw may need to be adjusted (too loose or too tight, it happens!) so you break the loc tite bond and you're right back where you were before you started. The only real solution is to drill and tap for a set screw. 30 minutes of work for a lifetime of service. It's worth it.

Those bolts are designed to loosen, before the sprue cutter breaks.

Let's see if I've got this right ?

On a Lee 2 cav. mold the sprue hold down bolt is designed to loosen to keep the sprue plate from breaking.

I've never heard of a sprue plate breaking on a Lee 2 cavity mold. How is this possible ?

it's all an educated guess,,,, till the trigger is pulled.

the more i find out about shootin boolits, the more it contradicts everything i ever learned about shooting jaxketed.

The problem is the spruce wood plate!
