Savage 12V magazine conversion

I have a Savage 12V in 223 Remington. It is the standard magazine fed model. I do most of my shooting off a bench, especially when load testing and find loading singly a hassel.

I use the benchrest followers in my mauser type actions and love them, but they won't work in the Savage.

Are there any after market items that will convert my Savage 12V to a single loader? I would appreciate any help from this forums members.

.22 1911 conversion kit

Had a question - could be a dumb one but I'll ask anyway - just bought a 1911 from a buddy chambered in .22 and was curious what the difference is between what I've got and a .22 conversion kit in terms of barrel, slide, etc. Could I theoretically use parts from the .22 1911 as a conversion kit for my Para USA 1911 chambered in .45? I got it from him for 50$, the frame is beat to hell and it needs a lot of TLC, but I figured it would make a good project for the time being and with conversion kits costing 300$+ I figured what the hell and bought it. Again, could be a dumb question, just answer it before the beginning public humiliation __________________

8mm mauser conversion question

There is also the 9.3x57 (.366") wich is a common European large game cartridge, especially in Sweden an Norway for moose. This can be formed from 7.9mm Mauser brass. A very old cartridge is the 9.5X57 (.375") Mannlicher cartridge, which still uses the same basic case. It was made obsolete by the .375 H&H Magnum, but still would be fun for a sporter project. Neither of these would require magazine alterations, but the feed rails may need work.

The .35 Whelan is a 30-06 legnth cartridge, and will work in a 98K action. However, some factory rounds may be too long to fit in the magazine box. Just try loading some longer 30-06 cartridges (like surplus ammo) in your magazine, and you will see what I mean. However, the work needed to make the slightly longer rounds function properly may not be prohibitively expensive.
