Vince Noel Gun??
Hi All,
I recently came across a gun (well actually purchased it) that i am being told is a custom 270 made by "Vince Noel", with a Mauser action i was hoping that someone one this forum would be able to tell me a little about this gun, the barrel (Douglas) appears to be bright and shiny as i had the chance to run a bore scope down the inside, i had purchased this rifle for $400.00 from a estate sale, Is this a good purchase, I really liked the weight and feel of the gun is what made me buy this.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Do not lower the die, just lower the decaping rod a little, you may not have it down enough. The way to check is to bring up a LUBED case into the full length resizing die, then loosen the nut on the rod. Let the rod stop at the bottom of the case and re-tighten the nut on the rod. lower your ram and measure again.
The other trick is to take the guide rod on the Lee trim gauge and using a rough scrubbing pad clean the rod, it might have crud buildup from other cases that have been trimmed.
Just a suggestion.

Makarov as a CCW- grips?
Ladies and Gents, I have begun carrying my Bulgarian Makarov as one of my CCW weapons. I have a Galco Softuk holster that works wonderfully with my typical non-work attire (can't carry at work).
I feel comfortable shooting with my factory grips, but I have considered switching to a set of aftermarket rubber grips to possibly improve grip and protect the original grips.
Should I get the replacements? If so, what does TFL reccomend?

True, and maybe I am old-fashioned, but internet searches tend to look up keywords and see only one section of the law. With law books in front of you, you can see better the interrelation of the laws and sections of the laws. It is pretty common for one section of the law to track to another, either supporting or even seeming to contradict another, and it is not easy to correlate everything you need to know using a web search.
Lawyers and researchers will use on-line searches to find the pertinent laws and do the preliminary looking, but I think they will all end up with a table full of open law books.
