KS & MS Info. . . States Honoring Other States. . Happy 4th of July!

KS & MS Info. . . States Honoring Other States. . Happy 4th of July! Happy “4th of July” to all and “Thank You” for all your assistance over the years. Handgunlaw.us is what it is because people just like you give me a heads up on changes in the laws of their states. I couldn’t do this by myself. Sorry for the long post but I believed everything needed stated. Gary Slider

July 1st brings many changes in Kansas and Mississippi plus other smaller changes in other states. Kansas July 1 will honor all other states. All State, County and City Buildings can get an exemption and have up to 5 years to install Medal detectors and have all entrances covered or they can no longer ban carry in those buildings. No Longer is any area outside a State, County or City building off limits. Kansas law also points out that a CCL holder if they do walk past a No Gun Sign have to be ask to leave first before they are in violation of any law.

Mississippi new law allows open carry. A judge has put a hold on that law so until they have another hearing Open Carry will not be legal in Mississippi beginning Monday. I do not believe the stay on the new law will not last long.
www.Handgunlaw.us will be updated with many new changes because of law changes in Kansas and Mississippi plus other smaller changes in a few other states late Sunday evening 6/30/31.

Things have changed radically over the last 8 to 10 years. More states honor other states permit/licenses than ever before and it is getting better all the time. Here are some of the numbers!

3 states allow anyone who can legally own a firearm and is 21 to carry it concealed without any type of permit/license. AZ, AK & VT

1 state just allows its residents to carry concealed without any type of permit/license. WY

1 state allows those from the states of Arizona, Alaska, Wyoming and Vermont to carry on just their state issued Drivers License/State ID. Those 4 states have permitless carry and the State of Oklahoma allows those states residents to carry without a permit/license in Oklahoma since their state allows them to carry without any type of permit/license. Those from all other states must have any valid permit/license to carry in Oklahoma.

13 states honor all other states permit/licenses. ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, MI, MS, MO, NC, OK, SD, TN & UT.
2 More states will join the list of states that honor all other states permit/licenses in the next 6 weeks. AR & AL.
That means a Grand Total of 18 states will honor all other states permit/licenses by the end of Aug 2013 or allow permitless carry.

Many states honor 20, 30 and a couple honor more than 40 other states permit/license.
Only 10 states plus DC, NYC and the U.S. Possessions do not honor any other states permit/license. CA, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NYC, OR, RI, DC, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico. Of the states on this list CT though a May Issue state issues like a Shall Issue State. Some counties in CA and NY will issue to anyone who meets the criteria and OR is Shall Issue.

Illinois will join the Issue states in the coming months. The bill on the Governor’s desk and is Shall Issue. Though they will not honor any other states permit/license the bill does allow for non-resident permit/licenses. The Governor has not signed or vetoed the bill at the time of this posting.

Excluding Illinois as described above only DC, American Samoa and the Northern Marianas do not issue permit/licenses to carry. Some don’t realize that residents of the “American Possessions” are U.S. Citizens.

Below is a chart showing how many states that state will honor. “CC” stands for Constitutional Carry + they honor all. “All” means they honor all other states. A number represents how many states they officially honor. You can view the complete chart at the link below. This chart is from Page 2 of the document. The first page lists states and who honors them. The second page lists the states and who they honor.

Happy newbie with new mold

Cast Boolits - Dedicated To The World Of Cast Bullets!

After having a bad day at work,i come home and in the mailbox is a little box from accurate molds. Good way to end the day,so I had to clean the mold up and fire up the pot and try it out.The mold is a 502325g and is very nice to cast with.I did notice that the aluminum mold really likes to be hot to cast well. Now I just need to let the boolits set for a few days, check and size them and see how the model83 likes them.Hopefully they shoot as nice as they look.Anyone else on here shoot a 50ae?I also cast the rcbs 340gr boolit but wanted something a little lighter to play with.

New RCBS mold equalls happy

Cast Boolits - Dedicated To The World Of Cast Bullets!

Hi there everybody, a few weeks ago I asked y'all if new RCBS molds produced full diameter boolits using straight COWW. The reply's were just about unanimous in yes, yes they will. Today I received my new RCBS .45 cal. 255gr SWC mold that is stated to throw .454". Well I fired up the Pro Melt, cleaned the mold and had at it. Cast some with straight COWW at 650, some at 680 and some at 710 degrees. Waited for them to cool to room temp and measured and weighed them. Diameters ranged from .456" to .457" and weight was surprisingly heavy between 276-278 grains, was expecting 260 to 263 grains . I tried sizing some at .452 dia. with good results and some at .454 with the expected good results. This same batch of alloy using a RCBS .38-150 SWC KT throws em at .360 dia. at 157 grains and have run them at 1,100 fps out of a .357 mag revolver with good accuracy and almost zero leading. Anyhoo I am happy with this result and for the moment I think I'm done with new Lyman mold's till I get smart enough to get good results with them. Once again thanks for all the help I have received here!
all the old lyman/ideal molds i have in .358 usually throw .359 .360.
i recently splurged and bought a new lyman dc .358 665 and the biggest i get out of it is .356
sorta just passes through my .358 sizer. not too happy

Sorry to hear of the poor results with your new Lyman Mold, however, that is typical for Lyman right now.

Ben

I would send it right on back to Lyman. I just can't bring myself to buy a new Lyman mold, even though there are a couple I would like to have. I have a few of the older ones and they're great. Mike

i tend to stick with lee not as fancy but i have not had one problem between all my 7 lee molds.
RCBS are top quality molds.

38-150 SWC or KT is a really great one. Top notch.

Sorry about Lyman, they design for #2 alloy and not too many are actually
using it, so they often get undersized.

Bill

If it was easy, anybody could do it.
now if someone would just design a gun for their 429 series of molds.
it's all an educated guess,,,, till the trigger is pulled.

the more i find out about shootin boolits, the more it contradicts everything i ever learned about shooting jaxketed.

I'm with Bill, you won't go wrong with an RCBS mold ( or RCBS anything for that matter ).
Well I'm sorta glad that my reentry noob status opinions of the new Lyman molds were not too far out of line. Bought three of em a few months ago and have had fits with them. Casting way undersized, ragged sprue plate drop holes and having to reduce my new hickory hammer handle to splinters tapping bullets out of the molds. Fussed with them, polished em out with a Flitz covered bullet and cleaned up the ragged drop holes and got two out of the three useable. The 454190 at least drops at .452 and can use it in most of my .45 Colts as a .452 bullet (bought it for my Colt SAA's that can use a .454). The 429421 drops a half a thousand under .430 but will lube up without squirting lube up around them and shoots fairly well. The 452424 is a lost cause even with a number two alloy the best I can get out of it is .451 at ten grains lite and I'm going to just set it aside for the moment. Thanks again for the advise all and my future molds will be RBCS's.
RCBS is far and away the best quality off the shelf mold available at any cost. You need to go full custom such as MP or Accurate to do any better. Also doesn't hurt that RCBS has so many outstanding bullet designs.

Hi,
Couldn't of said it better myself! The only thing that threatens the status of my RCBS molds is the NOE and MIHEC brass 4-cavitys!!!
Always looking for Dillon RL-300's!.
Wish my 429421 that was purchased about 6 months ago would at least drop 'em that big! Mine on a good day will only do .428. That is entirely unacceptable!
