H&K USP compact or Glock G26 Gen4

H&K USP compact 9mm is more comparable in size to the Glock 19.

It is going to depend on what fits you best and whether you prefer a striker fired pistol like a Glock or a DA/SA hammer fired pistol with an external safety like the HK.

Myself I would give the HK USP the edge in trouble free operation compared to the Gen 4 Glock but either are great pistols.

a few questions about the S&W Military and Police .45acp compact....

a few questions about the S&W Military and Police .45acp compact.... I'm going to get a new(new in box) Smith and Wesson M&P .45acp compact soon & had a few gunsmith/after market concerns...
1) can the S&W Performance Center or a S&W trained armorer add a ambi safety to a compact M&P .45acp? This model doesn't have it & I think S&W no longer sells a ambi safety compact in .45acp.
2) do any places like Bar Sto or KKM make match grade stainless barrels for a compact .45acp pistol?
3) do full size M&P .45acp pistol magazines fit the smaller compact .45acp in emergencies?
It could be useful as a BUG or back-up on security details.

PM if you want.

Thanks,
ClydeFrog

Beretta PX4 Compact Question

My question is for those who own a PX4 Storm Compact.
I own one in 9mm, that has maybe 800 rounds or so being shot.
Today at the range, after the slide locking back when empty, after inserting
a full mag the slide didn't want to return after dropping the slide release.
I didn't give it much thought, as after fiddling with both sides release, or inserting an empty mag it would then slide back.
When I cleaned the gun, I noticed something that maybe you could check on yours for me.
The "Extractor Spring Pin" (hole in top of slide) seems to be protruding into
the underside of my slide, and has been causing wear on the polymer frame below. I don't recall it protruding before, and I suspect this may be my problem. My pic attached is very blurred (sorry), but you can still see the protruding pin.
Maybe you would be kind enough to see if yours is "flush" on the underside of the slide.
Thanks so much!
SN
Note: The "pin" appears as a white dot on my poor photo. Last edited by ShootingNut; Yesterday at 03:54 PM. Reason: Added Information

Price Check - Springfield Armory Ultra Compact 1911 9MM

I have a friend at work that is wanting to sell the above camera Well, it's not so much a complete camera as it is a flash unit.

Seriously, though, if it's in good shape and functional $500 would be a steal. They go for over double that new. Probably about double that in decent condition used. Still, the small 1911s can be temperamental. Springfield Armory is good at helping things get sorted, but if it works it's definitely worth that. If it doesn't work I'd wonder why but expect SA to help me get it right.

Browning 1911-22 Compact Range Report and Sights Question

I recently snagged up one of these from a fellow member here. Been wanting one for some time. Wanted to have a 1911 platform in a .22lr to teach new shooters various platforms without the cost and recoil of center-fire ammo.

The fit/finish is your typical Browning quality. I'm happy with the gun overall. Expected accuracy. Fun to shoot. Not one single hiccup after putting various brands of ammo through it. This includes the crappy Remington Thunderbolt. Two "gripes" I have: It is tiny. Small even for my medium sized hands. It took some getting used to on finding a happy medium on copying hand placement on a full size with it. Understanding there are conversion kits out there for full size 1911s, I'm a big opponent of them to use on my guns. Also, the size helps some people to ease in to the mechanics of shooting first.

The other gripe is I don't like the sights. The front isn't dovetailed so I'm guessing any upgrades will be few and far between. Anyone have suggestions? I think my best option is to get some flourescent paint of my choosing and call it good.
