4 Digit Remington 700 surfaces

Old Yesterday, 05:58 PM Location: Springfield, South Carolina4 Digit Remington 700 surfaces A friends estate collection is being sold off and lo and behold there is a Rem 700 ADL in 308 and it now has a new home. I have never seen a 700 this old and the workmanship beats what I am seeing today hands down.
I don't think this thing has seen 50 rounds, both locking lugs contact evenly and the striker indent appears to be dead center. The trigger has nice adjustment and no creep.

The quality of workmanship I see today won't touch this beauty.

Complete with beautiful Weaver V9 that is mint.

In thinking back I have never seen a 700 that did not have at least six digits.

When I pulled it out of the case I did a casual look over and I did a double take when I saw only four digits ! ! !! ! I have a Pre War Mod 70 with a four digit number as well.

Yes I will never forget my friend. I also got a new unfired Tikka T3 Stainless and a Glock 23 with low rounds as well. He had priced everything when he was terminal and I am giving his wife exactly what he had recorded.

There is also a NIB CZ85 Combat all chromed up. Would make a great hood ornament haha.

At one time I had the code sheet for Remingtons but alas I guess it went out when my hard drive was erased last Christmas to get rid of all the crud on it.

Anybody got a http of where I could get a new copy? I think it only sold for like $131.00 when it came out ! ! ! ! !

There is also a Rem 870 old one that appears unfired with a Paragon Slug barrel and compensator. I researched it and they still have some in stock at Midway. Absolutely beautiful slug barrel but I am not into shotguns or slug guns but if I were this would be a keeper for me as well. I have never seen such a nice looking barrel on any shotgun as there is lots of really beautiful workmanship in this tube. Has a Simmons variable scope as well.
