429244 is 265 grains with lube and GC -- Lode data for jacketed OK ??

First.

Yes, in general, you can use the jacked data for the cast bullet of the same weight but I don't recommend you use cast data for Jacketed.

Second.

Do not start anywhere near that load.
Since you do not mention the cartridge, I would not mention a charge weight but if you have only a max load, reduce it by at least 10% to start.
If you have a starting load and a maximum load, reduce the starting load by 5%.

16 grains of Alliant 2400 = Great day at the range!

Finally got around to trying the "Universal Load" in my VZ24 and I was thrilled with the results. After three fouling shots, it went from "minute of milk jug" to "clay bird" accurate with iron sights at 50yds. I used the LEE #C324-175-1R sized to .323, lubed with LEE Alox bullet lube. Bullet alloy was run of the mill WW + Range scrap. Felt like a hustler when I called out my shots to my shooting buddy. He remarked that he didn't realize he was sitting next to Chris Kyle. Going to load up some more and see what they do at a 100yds.

I shot 17.5 grs. of 2400 in my 358 Win. yesterday.
NEI 272 gr. g/c bullet sized to .358"
5 rounds at 50 yards.

Yes, 2400 is a fine powder for cast bullet loads ! !

IME, if you cannot make at least one of 16 gr of 2400, 10 gr of Unique or 13 gr of Red Dot work in a milsurp, you
are cursed and should take up knitting. Or maybe see if there are any of those spirally things inside the
barrel at all.

Obviously, there are slight adjustments that may be needed, but these are the "known good loads" that I
use and recommend.

NOE .224 molds available in 55 and 70 grains

Greetings casters, 3.16.13

I've been looking for a .225 mold for my .224 rifles for a long while. I need one in aluminum or brass since I live in the tropics and anything ferrous rusts too easily. Tom at Accuratemolds doesn't go below 30 caliber. I called NEI molds and he said he no longer does aluminum molds and only works with iron now. Lyman and Saeco are iron molds. I prefer not to use Lee as I've been burned multiple times with some of their molds. NOE seems to have the mold I want but has not had any in stock for a long while (I check most every day). Lo and behold yesterday a bunch of 55 grain and 70 grain molds appeared IN STOCK. I ordered and it shipped today. If you're looking for a .225 mold and had trouble finding one then NOE has them now.
