What's your pet powder

For almost all chores handgun, my go to powder is WW 231. I've been using it since the early 1980s, and don't see any reason or need to try to find something else for the vast majority of my handloading duties.

For heavier loads in .357 and .41, my primary powder is WW 296.

I do, however, have a bunch of AA 7 left over from when I was loading 10mm, and I'm finding it also to be a very nice powder in .357 and .41.

For light loads in my older handguns, and exclusively in my .44 Special, I use Trail Boss.

Finally, for my .45 Long Colt, I been using primarily Universal Clays. It seems to have a lot to recommend it.

For rifle, .243, .300 Savage, and .30-06, I use IMR 4064. But, I've not loaded or shot much rifle in the past 20 years.

For 12-gauge range loads, Red Dot.
