Springfield XDM 9: the "just right" ccw gun?

generally speaking there are a lot more Glock owners than there are XDM owners so you may find this discussion a bit 1 sided.

all of those things you listed about the XDM compact the compact glocks also have. the XDM packs the most features into a single package however. it's bigger than the 26(or whatever their smallest 9mm option is) but smaller than the glock 19. it has higher ammo caps than both but all can take the full sized mags where the glock has the advantage of 33 round mags though I don't see much practical purpose of buying a compact gun and then using a mag that triples it's height and weight.

a lot of glock owners like the simplicity of the design and abhor the grip safety and single action trigger of the XDM(I guess too reminiscent of the 1911). I generally shoot glocks better than XDMs(with the exception of my XDM45compact) but I flat out hate the ergonomics of glocks.

IMO, XDMS feel better, have better factory triggers, better ammo cap across the board(equal in the case of 45ACP models), and are more utilitarian in design(more uses in one package without having to resort to several specialized models per caliber). I also prefer the added protection of the grip safety for CCW as I have read numerous reports of neglegent discharges of glocks while carrying. Springfield also has never had to recall it's XDMs and does not have chronic recurring issues like glocks GEN 4 and new gen3s(erratic ejection patterns, spring problems ETC).
