I followed Oldfeller's sticky on lapping Lee molds and he is recommending MD powder for the bullet cavities as a one time treatment for release. After the cavities were to size, polished, and clean the last lap cast was sprinkled with MD and burnished in.

This worked well so the sprue plate was removed and the mold face and plate got the same burnished with a piece of smooth leather.

This seemed to work well so I used Moly on the pivots also.

There is no other lube on the molds. One is a new style and one is the old style. Any reason a guy would use any other lube on these?

It seems too simple and easy but is working well.

Thanks Dave

If the cavities are clean and smooth, I don't put anything in them. Never found a need for smoking them or using some type of lube.
If God didn't want man to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of MEAT!

The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list.
