German Luger

Friend has ww2 German Luger. He took it to a range the day and said it would not chamber a rd when u pull the slide back and let go. Does TFL have any thoughts on this, please Could be a lot of things. Without more detailed information, its a total guess.

Here's some possible reasons (in general) in no particular order:

1) gun broken
2) magazine not seated
2.5) other problem with magazine (weak spring, mag feed lips bent, etc)
3) incorrect ammunition (including correct caliber out of spec ammo)
4) gun dirty (to the point where it won't function)
5) gun not correctly lubed (action sticking/sluggish)

or possibly a number of other things, or a combination of things.

My friends car won't start, does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Seriously, Lugers are notoriously cranky about working, for lots of reasons. The more info that can be provided, the better an educated guess can be made.
