XD(m) Two tone question

Trying to figure out if its worth shelling out an extra $50.00 for the two tone XD(m) in 45 ACP. I have been researching and it appears that the slide on the current production two tone may be carbon steal with some kind of coating or plating? The 9mm and 40 S&W versions specifically note that the bi-tone slide is SS but not the 45 ACP version. Curious if something different is done for the 45 ACP version of the gun or if this is just a oversight in the literature.

Looking for some clarification and not finding it on Springfields website.
