Am using WW lead, Lee .356 102 grain mold. Melting lead in a small cast iron pot and heat from a turkey fryer turned almost off. Weighed my boolits. 27 weighed 99-100 grains with a sharp groove. 15 weighed 98 grains with most having a reasonably sharp groove. Question - If these mic close to .356 are they ok to load?

Welcome to the addiction! Glad you had success but remember, it did not happen unless you post pictures! Tim
Clyde,
I'll try to answer your question. I don't cast and load for a 9mm but still think I can help. I have heard of folks using bullets up to .358" in their 9mm's but don't know how common this is. From what I think I know .356" to .357" is best for most 9mm's. If the bullets measure .356" to .357" I would lube them load and try a few. I'm sure someone with more 9mm knowledge will be along soon.
Good Luck,
Rick
Depends on what you're trying to load them in.
380ACP ?? 9mm ?? Have you miked your barrel ? .356 works fine in my 9mm's but my 380 needs a larger bullet. Some folks use 357 or 358 in 9mm. Lube and try them out.

most 9m barrels are not 355 they are generally more like a 38 barrel in diameter.
it's all an educated guess,,,, till the trigger is pulled.the more i find out about shootin boolits, the more it contradicts everything i ever learned about shooting jaxketed.

Clyde 72After a long casting session, I generally weight all the boolits. Mostly I find them in 3 groups. Those that are about 1 grain light, those that are about 1 gr heavy, and the bulk are spot on the weight that that mold casts with that alloy.
No harm to shoot them, if you want to.
I'll say this - MY 9mm's weren't working without a boolit of .358 diameter. They're both modern ( a 1911 and a Beretta 92) and needed .358 to avoid the dreaded lead. Mike
