universal decapping

User note on the Lee collet-held decapping pin that is designed to give way BEFORE you break it:

There is a sweet spot of nut tension here that is the magical answer you may seek. If you torque it down heavily, you will have completely defeated the entire concept and the collet will not let the rod loose to bow out before breaking.

I can't tell you what the torque spec is, but a cheap rule of thumb is that it arrives to you torqued properly when you get it, and a quick mark with a Sharpie may assist you in setting it back where it needs to be.

If you set that tension where it needs to be (and not over tight) then the next time you fail to weed out an offending berdan primed piece, it will hopefully slide up harmlessly out of the way - rather than bending or snapping off because you gave it the 'ole "gorilla tight" when you tightened down after your FIRST piece of berdan primed brass.
