Where to find mold block alignment pins

Cast Boolits - Dedicated To The World Of Cast Bullets!

I'm in the process of making some mold blanks to use for making swaged bullet cores.

Does anyone know where to buy the steel alignment pins that get pressed into the mold block faces?

I found some at McMaster-Carr, but the price is way too high. It'd cost me $20 for each set of blocks to use those.

I'd like to find some that press into a .249" or .250 hole, since I have reamers for those two sizes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

Dont think its the answer your looking for but if you are making the blocks you may as well make the pins and sprue plate.
it's all an educated guess,,,, till the trigger is pulled.

the more i find out about shootin boolits, the more it contradicts everything i ever learned about shooting jaxketed.

What are folks using as the 'receiver' side of the pin set?
I'm assuming I will cut in aluminum.
Anyone found a cost effective(cheap) part/method?
I bet Lee would sell them.
they aren't listed on there website, but it'd be worth a call.

"Dowel" pins come in set sizes and lengths are pre hardened and ready to go. The draw back is you have to normally buy them by the 100. Some stores Menards lowes home depot or the local hardware may have them by the piece in the bolts hardware section also. They are available in standard and metric diameters and lengths. Drill rod could be cut and faced but wouldnt be hardened.
