I have had good luck using SPG and pan lubing my 45/70 slugs, then sizing them. What do you guys who pan lube use? Anything better than SPG, cheaper also, more readily avialable. All replies appreciated.

I don't have a 45/70, but use speed green to pan lube everything I pan lube. Easy to make and ingredients are easy to get. Three parts beeswax to one part Bullplate sprue lube by weight. I get beeswax from Randyrat and bullplate from the bullshop. Both forum members.
is this for black powder or white powder?
it's all an educated guess,,,, till the trigger is pulled.

the more i find out about shootin boolits, the more it contradicts everything i ever learned about shooting jaxketed.

1 pound beeswax (randyrat) 1/2 pound lanolin (randyrat) and 1/2 pound canola oil (grocery store) by weight.

Perfect lube for BPCR and the white stuff...
